Troubleshooting

Plugin not showing up in my DAW

  1. Verify the file location. Make sure the .vst3 file or folder is in the correct path for your OS (see Installation Guide).
  2. Rescan plugins. Most DAWs have a “Rescan” or “Refresh” button in their plugin manager / preferences.
  3. Restart the DAW. Some hosts only detect new plugins on a full restart.
  4. Architecture mismatch. Make sure you downloaded the build matching your system (x86_64). ARM/Apple-Silicon builds are universal on macOS.
  5. Check the DAW’s plugin blacklist. If a previous scan failed, the plugin may have been blacklisted. Clear the blacklist and rescan.

macOS: “Cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”

This happens because the plugin is not notarized by Apple. It is safe — you can verify the download’s SHA-256 checksum (SHA256SUMS.txt).

Fix

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS).
  2. Go to Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down. You should see a message about the blocked file.
  4. Click “Open Anyway”.
  5. If prompted again, click “Open”.

Alternative (Terminal)

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Panoramatone.vst3

Windows: SmartScreen warning

Because the plugin is distributed as a .zip (not a signed installer), SmartScreen warnings are uncommon. If you do see one:

  1. Click “More info”.
  2. Click “Run anyway”.

You can verify the download integrity with:

Get-FileHash .\Panoramatone_Windows_VST3_*.zip -Algorithm SHA256

Compare the output against SHA256SUMS.txt.
